Lucknow: Torrential rains lashed the Uttar Pradesh capital Lucknow yesterday but the rain also brought a great relief from the increasing humidity in this summers.

The rains led to traffic jams in many places in the city. Water logging was reported from Indira Nagar, Surendra Nagar, Patel Nagar, Chowk, Aminabad, Narahi and parts of Gomtinagar.

School children were stranded on their way home due to the heavy rains. Some parts of Lucknow reported power outages.

The Met office said it might rain moderately over the next 24 hours.
